Judith Webster named chief executive of Association of British Orchestras

AEM International are delighted to have been involved in the appointment of Judith Webster as chief executive of the Association of British Orchestras. She replaces Mark Pemberton, who left the organisation last month after 15 years in the post. Webster has previously run charity Music for Youth and designed and directed a post-graduate diploma in creative leadership for the Royal College of Music.

Webster said: “The opportunity to lead the ABO at this time is a perfect fit for me, combining as it does my passion for orchestras and my deep-rooted commitment to embracing change and supporting innovation in all aspects of their work. I am indebted to Mark Pemberton and ABO colleagues for their tireless work in supporting the sector throughout the pandemic and look forward to working with ABO members and also introducing new voices to the debate around how best to enable orchestras to thrive and build on the innovation of recent years.”
